Crockpot Pot Roast Recipe Extras
Many other Crockpot pot roast recipes prefer to use white wine or a mix of tomato sauce instead of red wine. These also work in providing a unique flavor to the pot roast as well.

Pot roast can be very tasty if cooked right, especially with a slow cooker. I prefer this recipe because I can use different red wines to add different tastes each time. The cumin is not necessary but I find that it adds a good flavor to the mix. Enjoy.
Crockpot Pot Roast Recipe Ingredients
2 lbs chuck roast
3 cloves of garlic (minced)
1/2 tsp of salt
1/2 tsp of pepper
1/2 tsp ground cumin
2 tbsp of flour
2 medium potatoes
1 celery sliced
1 carrot sliced
1/2 cup of red wine

Crockpot Pot Roast Recipe Directions Trim off excess fat from the roast and if preferred, brown both sides on a skillet with soem vegetable oil. Mix the garlic, cumin, salt, and pepper and rub over the roast. Place vegetables sprinkled with the flour into the bottom of the Crockpot and place roast over the vegetables. Pour red wine into the Crockpot. Cook on low for 10 hours and a delicious pot roast should be ready. |
